Yes. Because storage tank water heaters store a finite amount
of water, when that amount is used up as your shower goes
cold and you have to wait for the heater to heat the water
back up (this is known as recovery time).
Because
a tankless water heater heats the water as it passes through
the heater, you can never run out, provided flow limitations
are not exceeded (see our Sizing Guide to find the right model
for you). Flow limitations are basically based on individual
models. For example one model may have a flow off say 20 gallons
per use (or per minute), after which the heater will shut
off the prevent burnout.
So
if you want let's say a very volume of hot water (maybe you
are a millionnaire), then upgrade to a better model that will
give you more gallons of hot water per instance.
